Pawtals is being used in some areas already, but has been conceived for others also. The following use cases have been identified as uses for Pawtals IP or software.
#1 Large Touchscreen browser in the classroom
Educators use multiple browser windows to illustrate various aspects of a lesson or project, with a Pawtals browser. More than one student can use the Pawtals browser at the same time, due to the multitouch and area-based design. The app is attractive to users of different heights, and disabled users, since browser windows can be created and used at the height and position required.
#2 Large Touchscreen interface in a Corporate Setting
For large touchscreens in corporate meeting rooms, boardrooms or communication facilities, the use of multiple windows created by a local user allows the real-estate of the screen to be used in many ways. This could be for a browser as used in Education, but could be an interface to open any corporate application, from presentations to communications apps. This could be local for a physical meeting, or for presentation remotely.
#3 Mapping and Geographic Information Systems
Mapping and geographic data applications are a primary application for Pawtals interfaces, since the gestures allow for the defining of specific areas of a map. Quickly defining an area on a map, when connected to geographic, GIS, or other area-based databases and cloud applications allows for a rapid means to get data for an actual part of the globe.
#4 Defining an Opaque Area on a Transparent Touch Surface
Advanced use – specifically on a transparent touch surface, an area can be defined for being made opaque, or partially opaque. This could be for marketing or for visual display of information to someone on a transparent display, smart glass or a smart mirror.
#5 Defining a Transparent Area on an Opaque background of a Touch Surface
Advanced use – specifically on a transparent touch surface, an area can be defined for being made transparent, or partially transparent over an opaque or reflective background. This could be for marketing or for visual display of information to someone on a transparent display or smart glass.
#6 Defining an Area on a Smart Mirror for Mirrored or Non-mirrored Use
Specifically for Smart Mirrors, defining an area for mirroring image, to be transparent, to be a web browser, to select an app or to control audio-visual settings for an area. Also relevant to luxury platforms such as yachts and business jets where space is limited and the same touch surface can be used for multiple purposes at the same time.
